threads wearable art fashion show is finished.

but the photos are pouring in! hooray!

and here are a bunch of linkies the show is mentioned on, some with snip snaps (photos).

it was a great day! so many people showed up that it was standing room only, and then people had to be turned away. they hung out in the museum but could not get into the show. i think our (james, amanda, and i) project: the piece and the presentation that day went off without a hitch. i am really happy with the outcome of our group project. working in a group is not that easy. the 3 of us all have strong opinions because we are all artists. we ended up finding our group and just kind of doing what we do best, amanda (aka mandible) said it to me really well, but i am so exhausted that i cannot recall it very well. she did a lot of detail oriented work and the big push @the end and the day of show (and rehearsals too) and i kinda pushed the project along and worked on it everyday. james made all the crystals and was very helpful with constant feedback and ideas and also did a lot of the writing for the project. he also published a book of homemade crystal picks, http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/159029

Sunday’s SPRINGTIME UNAMPLIFIED ACOUSTIC BBQ on Roosevelt Island! Last year’s was so so beautiful! Lots of folks playing acoustic on an island right in the middle of the East River, the city and the river swirl serenely around you – you could throw rocks at the Midtown Skyline. And there’s this ruined castle-like 1850’s city smallpox hospital! -BUT- it’s going to be hot so -PLEASE- bring yr beach umbrellas -&- sunscreen -&- blankets -&- lawn chairs -&- little bbq grills -&- stuff to grill!
–SERIOUSLY– bring food -&- grills -&- charcoal!!! Bring yr acoustic guitars -&- toy percussion -&- toy pianos and (maybe) we’ll all have a big jam at the end! Bring yr Dad too – it’s Father’s Day! If it rains it’ll get rescheduled…
